Mandarin Oriental, The Cronut Heaven

I've heard about the legendary Mandarin Oriental for a long time.
And I think it's right if we name Mandarin Oriental Cake Shop the
"Cronut Heaven"

Located near Bundaran H.I in Jakarta, it's not that hard to find this place.

You just need to find the "japanese fan" look alike symbol between the skyscraper. 

Cronut Vanilla - IDR 42,500 (include tax)
Cronut Chocolate - IDR 42,500 (include tax)
I'll review both of  them in one time. 
Taste super duper great!! I think it's the best cronut I've ever heard so far. 
The texture is so crunchy outside, and the vla inside is really rich and smooth.
Melts in my mouth and my throat!
I cannot stop eating it!
The good thing about the Cronut in Mandarin is that, the Chef will cook it only when they got an order.
So if you go here, you'll always get a fresh cronut from the oven! 
We need to wait for about 20 mins to get the cronut, but it's all worth the taste!

Ambiance
When I got here, there are no people around - really, like none.
So it's like I rent the whole place that afternoon.
I really enjoy my time here. (especially with the cronut!)

Service
The service is also super duper nice!
Even though we didn't order any big meal there - yes, I specially came here just for the cronut - the waiter greet us properly and serve us really well. 
When the employee walk by, they throw a smile at us.
The waiter also help us take some pictures!

Oh my, I don't want to write so much because the more I write, the more I'm looking to the picture, the more I imagine, the more I crave for more cronut! *ups* but yes, that's how powerful it is!

Mercure, Trimurti Restaurant : Hello Buffet, We Meet Again !

Two days ago, I got a "late" birthday invitation from my IBM friends.
Turns out, the invitation is for a buffet dinner at Trimurti Restaurant in Mercure Hotel Surabaya.

It's been a long time since I had a buffet dinner and I kinda miss it. Hahahaha.
Well, I'm preparing myself to try all the yummy food on the table ;)

Food & Beverages

There are not so many options regarding the buffet provided by Mercure.
It has 4 main sections for the buffet, let's review it one by one.


First section (located on the very left side from the entrance)
It's where the main course is located. You can found Tempura, Cawan Mushi, Curry, Soup, Noodle, Crocket Beef (I think), Japanese Noodle with Black Soup, and two other foods which I forgot the name and I didn't try.
--Tempura--
They served it with onion rings. Actually the Tempura taste good and very crunchy, but I forgot to put the seasoning at the first time, that's why it taste really plain. So my advice, don't forget to put the seasoning guys!
--Cawan Mushi--
You can say this is my favourite dish from this side. The texture is really soft, and there are some surprises like mushroom, shrimp, and fish inside that makes it even more delicious :)
--Curry--
I only taste the soup because they provide it with ribs and it's kinda hard to eat that's why I'm lazy to try it.
--Soup--
Taste really good! I really love the taste of the soup. The colour is yellow but the taste is awesome.
--Noodle--
I don't like this one. It contains cheese and also some meat, but I think it's already cold. Maybe that's why the taste is kinda weird.
--Crocket Beef--
They served this one with "Kerupuk" as the side this. Both the beef and the "Kerupuk" taste really good! Food note : the crocket contains a large onion, if you're not an onion lover maybe you'll hate this one. But if you ask me, I totally love it.
--Japanese Noodle with Black Soup--
The name is not long like that, it has a shorter name but I forgot what it is. Start with a "K", I guess.
It consists of noodles, bean sprouts, carrots and some vegetables. Even though the colour of the soup is black, it does taste good. I think if it's a bit warmer, it will be more delicious.


Second Section (Located on the middle)
This second section provide sushi, salad, fruits, and ice cream
--Sushi--
Well, I'm not a sushi lover, that's why I didn't try much for the Sushi.
I only pick the ones that do not contain anything raw, too much vegetables, and avocado. (Yes, I hate these three things)
The nori taste good, the meat, cucumber, sticky rice also taste great. Quite good!

--Salad--
It's delicious but I expect the mayo to be yummier than that, hahaha.

--Ice Cream--
The ice cream is really yummy and I can't stop eating it even though I know what ice cream brand that they use *a little disappointed though because I expect more*


Third Section (Located on the bottom, the very right side from the entrance)
This one is really my favourite section out of all!
On the third section, they only provide Grill food. The chef also doing the grill near the place.
--Chicken--
I'm truly in love with this one! The taste is really perfect and I just love the seasonings. Crave for more!
--Blackpepper Beef--
The beef is really tender and it's actually taste great, but I think too much pepper that's why the taste is kinda not balance
--Dori Fish--
You need to add more seasonings because the Dori taste really plain. I don't really like the Dori.

Fourth Section (Located on the middle)
The last one is of course reserved by dessert!

There are many kind of desserts provided in this area (I think more than 10 choices) including some refreshments and puddings. They also provide some syrups for the toppings (well, I tried the chocolate one and feel disappointed because again I know the brand by tasting it and I expect for more)

The overall taste of the cake is okay, but I expect more than that. All the texture of the cake is very soft.
The yummiest cake maybe is the pink one.
The pudding taste okay too, but I need more sweetness in the pudding.

Ambiance
Even though it's Sunday night, there aren't many people around. It feels like we rent the whole space!
I love the service, all the waiter is really nice and very helpful. They refill the mineral water even though we haven't ask, clean up our empty plate when we get up to grab another food. When I ask for a new spoon and fork, they also respond really quick. Love the service!

TooTooMoo: Desserts you can't resist!

Hello dessert lovers!

These days, a lot of teenager in Surabaya has been crazy about cafe.
I've heard about this cafe quite a lot from my friends, that's why I decided to visit this place.
It's located near a house complex (Kompleks Perumahan) at Darmo area.
The place is not that big, but you can easily find it because it has a yellow sign board which is TooTooMoo.

Rather than any other cafe that is really crowded, I prefer this one because it's really comfy and not so many people around.

Love the menu!

Let's go through their unresistable dessert and drinks, shall we?

Hot Cappuccino - IDR 22,000
You'll get a free biscuit when you order this one.
The cappuccino taste great, perfect combination and not that sweet.
On the other hand, the free cookies taste really good! I think they made it by themselves because I spot that they're also selling cookies.

Ice Latte Bubble Gum - IDR 30,000
I never heard that bubble gum can become a latte, that's why I order this one.
If you expect the bubble gum to be sweet, then you shouldn't order this.
It has a blue colour, the taste is not sweet, but I don't know why I kinda love the taste.
I can feel the milk and the gum, and it blends perfectly without the sweetness.

Bonafi Leche - IDR 35,000
It likes a pie that has a crust circling the cake.
You can taste the caramel, banana, and also cream in it.
For me, the taste can be better if the banana taste sweet.
When I eat it, the banana feels a bit bitter.

Pudding Milk Raspberry - IDR 28,000
I really love this one!
It takes me to the sky when I eat this.
The pudding texture is so creamy, it melts in my throat ;)
I couldn't stop eating eat and I can finish this in just 2 minutes, hahahaha!

Ambiance
It feels home, and you can chill around without all of those noises
There are also some magazine you can read, and also a TV
It's a nice place to spend your time alone or even with your close friend.

The plus (+) point about TooTooMoo:
It doesn't have restaurant / service Tax !! *Horrayyy!*
Credit / debit card are both acceptable
The place is really enjoyable and makes you feel like home
The owner also very kind too!

The minus (-) point about TooTooMoo:
The seat arrangement is only fit to max 15 persons
Very minimum parking lot > only fits one car, and the rest need to park outside/near the street
