Nomz Jakarta: Launching The New Brunch!

Nomz is a restaurant in Grand Indonesia that belongs to Chef Arnold, one of the judges at Masterchef Indonesia.
I’m so lucky to be chosen as one of the 6 participants to enjoy their new brunch menu!!
As I just arrived in Jakarta about 4 days ago, it’s definitely a good news for me!

The Invitation Process

On one fine evening, I was just chilling on my bed, writing articles for some of my freelance agencies. Suddenly, I received this notification from Nomz, telling me that I was one of the 6 participants that have been chosen. Whoa!! I was really surprised and happy at the same time.

Nomz invites me to try their new brunch menu on Saturday, 9 January 2015 at 12 p.m.
I arrived approx at 12 p.m, and I met 3 participants that already been there. Wow, they’re so early, right?

The Whole New Brunch

At about 1 p.m, the dishes were served. There are two options of brunch, which are:
1. Braised pork belly with sunny side up, pickled carrot, cucumber, coriander, sambal, and sourdough (number 2 on brunch menu)

2. Scrambled eggs with grilled prawn, sourdough, Asian greens and Balinese dressing (number 3 on brunch menu)

What a very looonnnggg brunch name to remember, right? The good thing is it gives you detail about what you will eat later on. If you can’t remember, just remember the one in the brackets, okay?

What did I pick?

Well, I didn’t pick it, but the waiter was the one who give me the pork belly. (number 2 on brunch menu)
I’m so happy, though, because I’m a big fan of pork belly and I don’t feel like to eat prawn that time.

How did it taste?

Number 2 on brunch menu, The Pork Belly - IDR 85,000

Here's the detail. Look how juicy it is!!
The dressing / salad:
It’s so refreshing! It will balance all the taste inside the plate. Even though I’m not a fan of vegetables and I don’t finish eating the whole salad, but I can eat all the carrot inside it. Yes, I’m too in love with the taste.

The bread
Honestly I don’t really know the name for this kind of bread. The colour is yellow in the middle because of the butter, and I really like it! Well, as you know I’m kind of dessert person, I definitely love butter.

The sunny side up / egg:
It taste great! I love the fact that the yellow part still juicy. Well cook, but some of the side burns, becomes a bit black, and taste bitter.

The pork belly:
Well, this is worth a try! I really love the pork belly. It’s so tender, well cook, well seasoning, and the most important thing it has this layer of pork fat that I really love! Too bad it’s only 2 slices :’(
I crave for more!

Beverages - Apple Juice IDR 55,000
Actually, I want to try their Salted Caramel Milkshake. But it was sold out and they haven’t restock it yet :((
My second choice was actually soda, but I’m not allowed to drink soda because of several reasons  this time, that’s why I choose their apple juice.

When the drink come, I ask the waiter whether it’s really Apple juice or not. It’s because the color is green. A bit weird, right? I bet they’re using green apple to make the apple juice.
Honestly, it can taste better if the apple taste sweet. At that time, the apple is a bit sour.

A glance of Chef Arnold

Chef Arnold can’t join us for lunch because he’s busy preparing food for the customers. Well, it was Saturday and bunch of customers came to Nomz. They even have to stand up outside Nomz just to wait for the seat. It was super crowded!
After we finish eating, finally Chef Arnold come out and say hi to us. He even ask about how the food taste, and so on.
A bit chit - chat, then all of us take a picture together with Chef Arnold.
I even get a selfie with him!
He’s so handsome and so charming, really!

Once again, thank you Nomz and Chef Arnold for having us and for the brunch!!

P.S: I'll be back for the pastry!!!
